playa del carmen information
Playa del Carmen
Playa del Carmen (Xaman Ha' or Pláaya in Modern Maya) is at south of Cancún on the coast of the Caribbean Sea, in the northeast of the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. Originally a small fishing town, tourism to Playa del Carmen began with the passenger ferry service to Cozumel, an island across the Cozumel Channel and world famous scuba diving destination. While passing through, many people realized that it was a nice place to relax with quality beaches and turquoise waters. The Playa del Carmen local community and government have attempted to retain Playa del Carmen's reputation and charm as a small fishing village and artists' colony, without it becoming as large and metropolitan as Cancún.
If you are looking to party Playa del Carmen is a great place to go. The 5th avenue "strip" is alive at night and clubs and bars are dotted all along this strip. There are different great bars, restaurants and disco options that caters to every taste here so it is hard to recommend just one place.
Playa del Carmen is an excellent destination for your next vacations...Playa del Carmen is the Mexican tourist destination that follows the steps of Cancun and it is located only 42 miles from Cancun International Airport.
